This cookbook teaches home cooks Chelsea’s method for incorporating sous vide cooking into their meal prepping routines so they’ll never find themselves wondering, “What can I possibly make for dinner tonight?” again.
In Sous Vide Meal Prep, you’ll learn Chelsea’s process of buying in bulk, doing a little prep work, freezing, sous viding, and finishing. You’ll find overviews of how to prepare over a dozen different meats and seafoods; a library of “mix and match” rubs, marinades, sauces, and more; slightly elevated make ahead recipes for those nights you want to get fancy; sous vide side dishes to keep in your freezer; and even a few breakfast recipes, because what would a sous vide cookbook be without egg bites, the ultimate meal prep breakfast?
Sous vide cooking isn’t just for experienced or professional chefs: it’s a game changer for home cooks, too. With this book, the dinner preparers of the world will learn how sous vide cooking can do the heavy lifting for them when it comes to getting something delicious on the table every night.
Sous Vide Meal Prep
I am new to sous vide and got this book to get me started. It is so helpful and educational! I love that there is a chart with all kinds of cuts of meat plus temps and cook times based on how well done you like it. The mix and match recipes are so clever and make the recipes so easy to use. I’ve made several recipes already, but I can’t wait to get my freezer full of prepped proteins for easy weeknight meals!
Even if you have other sous vide books, this is a must have! This book has completely transformed the way my family cooks. We used to think of sous vide meals for fancy dinners but now we use it as a tool in our kitchen arsenal. Everything is so straightforward and this book gives you multiple cooking temps and texture options depending on what you prefer. This book is almost like a cooking “system” and how to be efficient with meal prep and utilize the features of your sous vide. Would highly recommend.
I really love the approach this book takes. While I’ve used my sous vide circulator for a while, I tended to always reserve it for more elaborate meals. Chelsea writes this book in such an approachable, non-intimidating manner...Highly recommend this book for someone who may have a sous vide circulator sitting in their drawer collecting dust, it’ll give you lots of ideas to get started.
